About

Largest ancient castle complex in the world according to Guinness Book of Records, featuring St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, and stunning views over Prague.

Tickets:

  • Grounds are FREE (courtyards, gardens, views, exterior of cathedral, Golden Lane after 5pm) — open 6:00–22:00. No ticket needed if you only want to walk around.
  • Ticket needed to enter: St. Vitus Cathedral interior, Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, Golden Lane during the day.
  • Circuit B (adult): 350 CZK (~€14) — the standard tourist ticket, covers the four big interiors above. This is what to buy.
  • Optional add-on: St. Vitus tower climb 200 CZK (287 steps, no elevator, great view).

Buy where:

  • Recommendation: buy at the door. Ticket offices are in the 2nd and 3rd courtyards. Tuesday morning at 9:00 = no real queue. Card accepted. Takes 5 minutes.
  • Online available at official site https://www.hrad.cz/en/prague-castle-for-visitors/tickets — but e-tickets are non-refundable if the castle has an unexpected closure, which is why even the locals recommend buying on the day.
  • AVOID third-party "skip-the-line" tickets on Viator/GetYourGuide — they're not real skip-the-line, just a meeting point handoff, and more expensive.

Hours: Summer (April–Oct) 9:00–17:00 for ticketed buildings, last entry 16:45. Tuesday is one of the least busy days.

Getting there from Vinohrady: Tram 22 → Pražský hrad stop. ~20 min.
