This Privacy Policy explains how Pickism ("Pickism", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit pickism.com or use our services.

1. Personal information we collect

During the pre-launch period, we collect only the email address you submit through our waitlist form. After launch, we may collect additional information you choose to provide (for example, account profile details and the comparison projects you create).

We collect information when you voluntarily submit it — for example, when you join the waitlist, register for an account, or contact us.

3. How we use information

We use the information you provide to:

• Notify you when Pickism launches
• Operate and improve the service
• Respond to your inquiries
• Meet legal and compliance obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including TLS in transit and access-controlled storage. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we make reasonable efforts to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Cookies

Pickism uses a minimal set of functional cookies necessary to operate the site. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking during the pre-launch period. You may disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not work as expected.

6. Third-party services

We rely on Kit (ConvertKit) to store waitlist email addresses and send launch-related emails. Kit's privacy policy applies to information it processes on our behalf. We do not share your information with any other third party except as required by law or as described in this policy.

7. Third-party links

Pickism may link to websites operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies separately.

8. Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants you the following rights regarding personal information about you:

• Access — request a copy of information we hold about you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Erasure — ask us to delete information ("right to be forgotten")
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your information
• Portability — receive your information in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to processing for direct marketing at any time

9. Your rights under CASL (Canada)

Under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, we will only send you commercial electronic messages with your express consent. Every commercial message we send will identify us as the sender, include a valid physical mailing address, and offer a clearly visible one-click unsubscribe mechanism. You may unsubscribe at any time and we will honor the request within 10 business days.

10. Your rights under Quebec Law 25

For residents of Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as modernized by Law 25) grants rights to access, rectify, and have your personal information deleted, as well as to de-index publicly available information in certain circumstances. In the event of a breach of confidentiality involving your personal information that presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information without delay, as required by law.

11. CalOPPA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (COPPA). All commercial email we send complies with the CAN-SPAM Act: honest sender identification, truthful subject lines, a valid physical address, and a working unsubscribe mechanism honored within 10 business days.

12. Do Not Track

We respect the Do Not Track (DNT) signal sent by your browser. When DNT is enabled, we do not use tracking analytics beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the site.

13. Fair Information Practices

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you within 7 business days via the email address on file.
