Mt. Gamti + Lake Bovilla hike

Half-day guided hike at Lake Bovilla + Mount Gamti, ~5-6h door-to-door.

The hike:

• 1,268m peak NE of Tirana
• ~1.5h drive (last 6-8 km unpaved gravel — car rentals contractually forbidden, even taxis often refuse)
• Short hike: 15-45 min to "Balcony of Bovilla" viewpoint, or longer/steeper to the actual peak
• Iron handrail steps near the top

Tour logistics (~€35-45 group, ~€90-120 private):

• Single morning departure ~8-9am
• Operators: GetYourGuide, Viator, Toursbylocals
• Some Viator tours do 1.5h of Tirana pickup loops before leaving — meet at central point to avoid

Best photos: golden hour over the turquoise reservoir (requires private driver in late afternoon)

Watchouts:

• The unpaved access road is unavoidable — no alternative route exists
• Bring water, sunscreen, hat — exposed at top
• 100 ALL (~€1) entry fee for the viewpoint, cash only
