Base config = 16GB/512GB, 10-core M5 CPU / 8-core GPU, 2x Thunderbolt 4, MagSafe, Wi-Fi 7 / BT6, backlit Magic Keyboard, Touch ID, 13.6" 500-nit P3 + True Tone, 12MP Center Stage cam, ~15-18h battery. Fanless. REALITY for browse + ym2: overkill — you won't FEEL the M5 vs a Neo for browsing/remote. What the money buys: LONGEVITY + HEADROOM (newest silicon = longest macOS support tail; 16GB ages gracefully vs 8GB soldered; 512GB vs 256). The 'buy once, ignore it 7-8 years' pick. Right size (13") too. Only worth it over the Neo if future-proofing is the priority.
