About

Apple's cheapest Mac — BUT a June 26 2026 price hike (DRAM/SSD shortage) erased much of its price edge. CAD now: ~$949 NEW / ~$809 Apple Certified Refurbished (256GB, 8GB, 1-yr warranty, added to the refurb store the same week). USED supply ≈ zero — too new; I checked Kijiji Rive-Sud / Greater Montréal and there's not one Neo (all old Intel + some M1–M4). So 'used/refurb Neo' realistically = Apple refurb ~$809 or buy new. Reality check: at $809 (8GB) vs a refurb M2 Air ~$900 (16GB), the Neo's bargain status is now marginal — you'd pay ~$100 more for an Air with DOUBLE the RAM, P3 screen, MagSafe + backlit keyboard. Neo still wins on: snappiest single-core, coolest lap (case ~36°C), fanless silence, new-with-warranty. Display 500 nits (sRGB, no True Tone). 8GB soldered. No backlit keyboard.
